HOW DOES EAS WORK?
An EAS security system typically involves the use of two components: EAS tags or labels which are affixed to your merchandise, and specialised security gates (known as EAS antennas) that are installed at the entry / exit points of your premises.
Once a consumer has purchased an item, a device built into the checkout counter can deactivate the security tag. If, however, a customer attempts to remove merchandise from your premises without first having a staff member deactivate the tag, it will set off an alarm – thereby altering your staff to a potential theft.
EAS Security is a tried and tested method for decreasing external shrinkage within your business – with reports showing that the installation of an EAS system can decrease external shrinkage within the range of 50-90%.
